| Beccio Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Beccio Famiglia is an ordinary Mafia Famiglia. The members wear formal suits. They have a good relationship with the Vongola Famiglia and seem to obey to them due to the difference in size, as shown in Mafia Land.
Bertesca Famiglia - Spoiler:
Is an alley of the Vongola famiglia and is currently residing on an island protecting seven seals to keep a man sealed away. History- The Bertesca Famiglia was allied to the Vongola Famiglia during both Famiglias' first generation. Their base and territory was located in Catafalco Island in Mediterranean, Italy. The Bertesca Primo got along well with the Vongola Primo, Giotto, and their Famiglias worked together to keep peace among their respective towns. However, this changed when someone named Parvento wrecked havoc, causing both Famiglias multiple problems. Unable to completely defeat Parvento, both the Bertesca Primo and Giotto sealed away Parvento by freezing him entirely with Zero Point Breakthrough: First Edition. To keep Parvento frozen forever, they created the Vongola Snow Ring, which was the key of the seven crystals scattered throughout the island that kept Parvento frozen permanently. Each crystals were placed inside a temple that guarded by seven main members of Bertesca Famiglia (excluding Bertesca boss who is guarding the frozen Parvento). The only way to free Parvento was to freeze the original Vongola Rings with the Vongola Snow Ring and have the frozen rings unfreeze by destroying the seven crystals that connected to the island's ice spikes. To do so would require the same type of Flame that sealed Parvento, the Sky Flame. In order to prevent Parvento's seal from being destroyed, the Bertesca Primo decided that he and his Famiglia, along with the villagers of the island, would stay on Catafalco Island to protect the seal and to prevent Parvento's tyranny from arising once more, thus cutting off their connection with the main civilization and the Vongola. Ever since then, the Bertesca Famiglia and the villagers of Catafalco Island diligently protected the seal from one generation to the next.
This decision, however, made the Bertesca Famiglia an pariah of the Mafia world and were thus persecuted by other mafia Famiglias due to their isolation on the island and their subsequent weakening, but never forget their main duty to protect the villagers and prevent Parvento from being revived again. Several years before the main storyline of the game, however, things started to change when Gelaro's father were killed during one of the persecutions, leaving Gelaro distraught and orphaned. In the middle of his grief, he came across the frozen Parvento during his walk to the underground part of his mansion. Recognizing Gelaro as Bertesca Primo's desecndant, he manipulated him to think that the Vongola was the cause of their weakness and that Vongola Primo only used them as a stepping stone, and that the only way to wipe out Vongola was to free him from his frozen state. As Parvento had hoped, Gelaro then decided to seek revenge on Vongola and convinced his remaining Famiglia members to fight against the Vongola and to free Parvento, not knowing what had actually occurred between the Bertesca and the Vongola and Parvento's evil intentions.
After Parvento was defeated and the misunderstandings were all cleared, Bertesca reconciled with Vongola and becoming their ally again.
Bovino Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Bovino Famiglia is only seen through the action of sending packages to Tsunayoshi Sawada and Shoichi Irie. Lambo is the only Bovino mafioso to make an appearance. The Bovino Famiglia is known as a weak Famiglia but, as stated by Reborn, has a powerful firearm arsenal.
Carcassa Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Carcassa Famiglia is mentioned as not being able to come and join all the other Famiglias at Mafia Land because they deal in drug trafficking and other deplorable activities. This leads them to contract the Arcobaleno Skull, the holder of the Cloud Pacifier and a strategist, to wage war on the Island. Their entire fleet of battleships is destroyed, however, by Colonnello's rifle. History- During the Arcobaleno Trials Arc in the anime, Skull mentions that he has to return to the Carcassa Famiglia, implying that he joined that Famiglia after the incident in Mafia Land.
Chiavarone Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Chiavarone Famiglia is the third most powerful Famiglia that is allied with the Vongola Famiglia. It is one of the largest Famiglias, with over 5,000 members in its ranks, though only a few of them have been named. It is currently being led by its 10th generation Boss, Dino. Dino was Reborn's previous pupil before Tsuna, and as a result of Reborn's training, is a capable Mafia Boss unless none of his subordinates are around him; in that case, he becomes extremely clumsy, although he is unaware of his own problem. Dino has single-handedly raised the Chiavarone Famiglia to a prominent position by fixing their finances.
Difo Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Difo Famiglia is a Mafia Famiglia that runs in Asia. They were first seen at Mafia Land. They have good relationships with the Vongola Famiglia and seem to respect them due to the difference in size
Estraneo Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Estraneo famiglia researched new weapons before soon being anialated. History-The Estraneo Famiglia was a normal Mafia Famiglia. Mukuro, Ken, and Chikusa were born into this Famiglia. However, when they created the Possession Bullet, the entire Famiglia was labelled as brutal and its members were horribly persecuted by the other Mafia Famiglias. According to Ken, as soon as the members of the Famiglia stepped outside, guns were pointed at them, and they were killed like bugs. The killings just stimulated the adults of the Famiglia even more in continuing the experiments to invent special weapons and used the children of the family as "guinea pigs." One of the researchers of the Estraneo Famiglia stated that the invention of the special weapon was a stepping stone for the Famiglia to restore their fallen glory. He also said, "Think of it as a honor to die by being a part of the development." The children of the Famiglia were dying one by one as a result of the experiments. Later, when Ken and Chikusa seemed to be the only surviving children left, in the middle of an experiment, Mukuro killed all of his captors with his Six Paths of Reincarnation. With Mukuro's rebellion, all the members of the Famiglia were killed, ending the Famiglia's existence.
Giegue Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Giegue Famiglia (nicknamed the "Grave Diggers") is an allied Mafia Famiglia to the Vongola Famiglia that hails from Russia. They planned to attend Vongola Decimo's Inheritance Ceremony in Japan. They have a fearsome reputation as a group of assassins, as Gokudera was nervous about his own appearance when he heard the Giegue Famiglia was coming to the Inheritance Ceremony.
They first appear when they discovered the location of the group attempting to interfere with the Ceremony. As a result, the Giegue Famiglia decided to deal with the interfering group as a gift to Vongola Decimo; however, they were defeated by an unknown female fighter, who, according to them, did not possess any of the conventional Dying Will Flames. Though the actual outcome of their battle with the mysterious fighter has yet to be confirmed, Reborn stated that their bodies were left in strange positions, implying that there were no survivors of the conflict. During the Inheritance Ceremony, the attacker was revealed to be Adelheid Suzuki of the Simon Famiglia, who used a Glacier Flame, a Dying Will Flame belonging to the Dying Will Flames of the Earth rather than the Dying Will Flames of the Sky.
Giglio Nero Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Giglio Nero Famiglia was the original holder of the Mare Rings given to Sepira, the founder, by Checker Face. It was led by Yuni in the future after the early death of her mother, Aria. Three months after Yuni took over the role as the Famiglia's Boss, Genkishi was defeated by Squalo. There was a bargain that Genkishi made up so that the Gesso Famiglia and the Giglio Nero Famiglia could join. The deal was that if Genkishi could defeat Squalo, the Gesso would not bother the Giglio Nero for five years. Genkishi didn't try to win; he wanted the two Famiglias to merge because of his secret loyalty to Byakuran because the latter saved his life from an illness. To prevent any more violence between the two Famiglias, Yuni met up with Byakuran and the Gesso Famiglia for a meeting. The two Famiglias then merged together to become the Millefiore as a result of Byakuran drugging Yuni, the drug dulling her heart. The Giglio Nero was the Black Spell of the Millefiore until Yuni, their commander, withdrew.
Leilei Brothers - Spoiler:
The Leilei Brothers are known as the ferocious tigers of Asia. These two Brothers are the leaders of a yet to be named Famiglia. They were present at Vongola Decimo's Inheritance Ceremony.
Macchina Famiglia - Spoiler:
The only creations made by the Macchina that appeared are the cyborgs Lenny and Manny. These two have abilities of super speed and super strength, respectively. They are capable of shooting missiles out of their mouths and fusing together to combine their powers.
Momokyokai Yakuza - Spoiler:
The Momokyokai Yakuza is a yakuza organization operating in Namimori. It has two groups of members whose levels of strength vary. The first group's members are dressed in suits and have neat hair. They were easily defeated by Gokudera and Yamamoto. The second group is dressed in a more yakuza-like fashion, looking rougher. They were easily defeated by Dino with his subordinates around him, Tsuna in Dying Will Mode, and Gokudera and Yamamoto.
Nuevo Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Nuevo Famiglia is a gangster-style Mafia Famiglia that hails from New York. They have a good relationship with the Vongola Famiglia, respecting them due to the difference in size, as shown in Mafia Land.
Pesca Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Pesca Famiglia was shown trying to stop the Inheritance Ceremony by sending one of their Famiglia members to assassinate Tsuna.
Simon Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Simon Famiglia is a Mafia Famiglia which has had ties with the Vongola Famiglia ever since the founding of their Famiglias; their respective bosses being best friends. However, over time, they've become an extremely small and weak Famiglia, so much so that Reborn, who has an extensive knowledge of the Mafia world, didn't know about them. Their current members used to attend Simon Middle School, but moved to Namimori due to the Vongola Decimo's Inheritance Ceremony being held there as well as their area being an earthquake-prone zone. History-The founders of the Simon Famiglia and the Vongola Famiglia were excellent friends who would never fight each other. During the massive mafia war against a rival mafia family of Vongola, Daemon Spade led Cozarto Simon and his family into a trap where they were cornered by the enemies. Fortunately, Giotto saw through his Mist Guardian's plan and ordered his remaining guardians to save the Simon. To prevent themselves from being a burden to the Vongola, the Simon family members went into hiding and faked their deaths in order to deceive Daemon's eyes. This decision led both families to make an oath with the Vindice that if the two families were to fight against one another, the Vindice would deliver the punishment. The Simon Famiglia isolated themselves in their island from the outside world and never met the Vongola for years.
However, due to Daemon Spade's plotting, the 10th Simon Famiglia generation was led to believe that Giotto had betrayed Cozarto Simon, leaving him and his Famiglia to die. The grudge from this incident was still evident, as the current Simon Famiglia wanted revenge on the Vongola for what had transpired.
The Simon Famiglia don't use the standard Dying Will Flames, which are called the Seven Flames of the Sky, but are the first and only known Famiglia to use the Seven Flames of the Earth, a power said to be able to rival the Seven Flames of the Sky. All seven guardians lost their parents at an early age due to their Famiglia being weakened and being persecuted by other Famiglias.
However, after defeating Daemon Spade, both the Simon and Vongola reconciled, becoming the Vongola's ally once again.
Todd Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Todd Famiglia is an ordinary Mafia Famiglia that attempted to capture Fuuta in hopes of obtaining his Ranking Book and powers; they were, however, easily defeated by Tsuna whilst he was in Dying Will Mode.
Tomaso Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Tomaso Famiglia is supposedly a rival of the Vongola Famiglia, having said to have skirmishes in the second generation. However, their current leader-in-training, Longchamp Naito, seems more focused in making friends with Tsuna than actually starting a war with him, unaware of their rivalry (that, or he simply doesn't care). Also, just like Longchamp, his family is pretty eccentric in their own right, such as Longchamp's subordinates having frequent internal disputes. So far, only three known members of the Famiglia were shown.
It is suggested in the future that the Tomaso Famiglia remained close with Tsuna through the years, but nine years and ten months later, they are targeted by the Millefiore Famiglia. Two days prior to Tsuna's arrival in the future, the Vongolas have already lost all contact with them and they have since been reported missing.
The family's name is most likely based on the name of an Italian car company called De Tomaso. The company has produced cars such as the De Tomaso Longchamp, De Tomaso Mangusta, De Tomaso Pantera, and De Tomaso Vallelunga (Lunga), which are the names of the known Tomaso Family members.
The Tomaso Famiglia has so far been a manga only Famiglia, making no appearance in the anime version of the series due to its unpopularity.
Trad 6 Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Trad 6 Famiglia is a new and fast-rising Mafia Famiglia that is allied with the Vongola.
Vongola Famiglia - Spoiler:
The Vongola is one of the largest Famiglia in existence, having an extremely large following. The Vongola is unique in its structure in that it accepts other Famiglias to become a part of their power, and, as such, has other Famiglias beneath them.
Blood of Vongola The Vongola Bosses are known for having the power to see through all, a trait passed down from Vongola Primo called Hyper Intuition. Vongola blood is said to be required in order for one to become a Boss candidate.
The Guardians The Guardians are the chosen holders of the Vongola Rings, and they are represented by the 6 weather phenomena that paint the Sky: Rain, Storm, Cloud, Sun, Mist, and Lightning. The Guardians are the current boss's main Famiglia members and they are considered the last line of defense for the Vongola. It is said that whenever the Famiglia runs into trouble, the Guardians would unite to protect them. History-The Vongola Famiglia has long since been the most powerful Mafia Famiglia in all of Italy. Several other Famiglias serve under the Vongola umbrella, including several members of the infamous Arcobaleno. Even when there is internal strife, members of the Vongola stand united to repel attack from opposing Famiglia, living up to their title as the best and the strongest.
The Vongola came into being after Cozarto Simon suggested to Giotto, the Vongola Primo, to create a vigilante group in order to protect the people. From then on, each generation of the Vongola Famiglia has donned formal attire when risking their lives to fulfill this duty. The Vongola originally started as a vigilante organization, but their ways gradually changed during Vongola Secondo's reign, starting to turn towards violence and crime.
The influence of the Vongola is worldwide, and it was said that no Famiglia can match them in terms of size, tradition, rules, or power, and due to this, the boss of the Vongola is considered by many to be the capo di tutti capi, or the "Boss of all Bosses". At the moment, the Vongola Famiglia is led by the Vongola Nono, Timoteo, but will soon be succeeded by the Vongola Decimo, Tsunayoshi Sawada. Tradition- Ring Conflict The Vongola Boss and the External Advisor to the Famiglia have equal power when it comes to choosing the next boss of the Famiglia. In the event that they have different opinions as to who the rightful successor should be, the boss and the external advisor hand Half Vongola Rings to their chosen candidates, and battle for the rings commence.
Vongola Succession Trial The Vongola Trial is a trial that every Vongola Boss must pass in order to gain a great power. The bosses need to be in a near-death experience in order to take the trial, and must be able to deal with the sins committed by the Famiglia.
Inheritance Ceremony The Vongola Inheritance Ceremony is when the Boss to be officially inherits the title of next Vongola Boss. Since the Vongola Famiglia has far-reaching influence worlwide, powerful Famiglias from all over the world will travel to attend the Ceremony and see the next Vongola Boss for themselves. Since the Ceremony is an important tradition for the Vongola Famiglia, it is expected that some Mafia Famiglias will either boycott the ceremony, attempt to assassinate the next Boss, or try to prevent the ceremony from taking place altogether.
